September Health & Fitness Reboot

IMG_5895So the journey continues as we walk into the cool, leafy breeze of fall. I’ve had a great summer of clean eating, family fun, and fitness focused accomplishments. My plant-based diet has proven to be one of the best choices I’ve ever made in life. I’m running farther, faster and more efficiently. My strength remains close to the college glory years when I ran the rock for Georgia Tech. My thoughts are sharper and energy is elevated continuously. The kids love being young vegan warriors as well. Their understanding of empathy, compassion, love and care for the earthlings we humans share the planet with is touching. Plus they have the power of gorillas. I’ve yet to meet a little boy that can go toe to toe with either of my 10 and 7 year old girls. “Proud ” is an understatement!

The journey has been profound. Fit Fathers awareness is increasing and fitness partnerships are racking up. I’ve completed two certifications and currently working on a third with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. The goal is to continue learning and digging deeper. We’ve been told lies since birth about what we should be eating. They said dairy strengthens our bones and meat is the only protein for creating muscle mass. Simply shaking my head. Friends have been lost and new relationships have been forged. I’d rather run on the beach of Miami opposed to getting wasted at Wet Willys in broad daylight. I respect my rest at 10 pm opposed to hours in the club watching the same people circle the VIP rope all night. Nomadic moves to Jamaica energizes me over zombie nights in Vegas. Yes, I’ve been struck by enlightenment even though I can’t believe it took this long. But remember, it is never too late to seek truth and treat your body like royalty. Let’s continue moving, eating clean and living life to the fullest! One Love!
