Welcome to the “Vegan Cyborg” Transformation

Vegan Power Story

My name is Kimatni D Rawlins and I’ve been a vegan since 2011. I Lost 50 lbs after the transformation and at age 44 I still have the majority of my speed and strength from my Georgia Tech Football running back days. I founded both Fit Fathers and Vegan Pro and run marathons, half marathons, urbanathlons, box, strength train, swim, mountain bike, cycle, hike, climb and everything else.

I’m free of any supplementation, only drink water, coconut water, and herbal decaf tea, eat 5 to 7 servings of fruits and veggies a day, do not cook with oils, and shy from processed vegan foods.

I am both alcohol free and smoke free and love reggae. I’ve flown 2.2 million miles globally to explore the diversity of the world and its rich plant-based foods and indigenous peoples. As I continue to evolve myself into a Vegan Cyborg only pure foods, thoughts and actions can enter my realm. Please join me if you’re looking for life everlasting change.

Life is for the living so please ascertain to eat clean, stay active and only feed your mind with pure, positive and enlightened thoughts that lead to purity and prosperity. The body is a temple so treat it as one.

Nike Air Max 97 = New Motivation

Motivation is always elevated when fresh athletic gear arrives. It increases your efforts, excites the senses, and makes you feel amazing. And when you feel good externally the energy is absorbed internally for a complete natural high. So far our new pair of Nike Air Max 97s, which hit the scene 20 years ago after being imagined from Japan’s bullet train, has led to a week of two-a-days from running and strength training to cycling and boxing. Instead of spending your loot on nonessentials like daily Starbucks runs, bar hopping, and jewelry invest in a pair of kicks and an exercise outfit that will help maintain your fitness goals. It’s a lifestyle people!

Men’s Nike LunarEpic Flyknit 2: Run Free

Experienced by Kimatni D. Rawlins

It’s been a mild winter in Maryland with the first day of March being no different. Yet, as spring approaches I begin to transition back into full running mode after mountain biking, indoor spinning, and strength training during the colder months. So of course I was anxious to try out Nike’s new LunarEpic Flyknit 2 running shoe for men which I received in grey with the black swoosh along with a fresh, matching outfit. Launched in early February the 8.8-ounce shoe (size 10) currently lists for $160 at various retailers including Road Runner Sports. [Read more…]

Run Santa Monica!

kimatni_rawlins_nike_just_do_it

Before the anticipated unveil of the new, family oriented 2018 VW Midsize SUV in Southern California tonight I went out to run some errands (literally) around Santa Monica for 5 miles. From dropping off a heavy package 1 mile away at the post office, to picking up my vegan dinner at Veggie Grille, to taking in the excitement of the Santa Monica Pier and Muscle Beach, I had a very energetic and fitness focused afternoon. Work pays the bills but positive health habits extends life. There should never be an excuse for actively enhancing your overall health.

Fit Fathers Runs the DC Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon

DC-Rock-n-Roll-marathon-Kimatni-Rawlins-Chuka-Agugua-Rashawn-Ciers-Fit-FathersReady, set, rock is exactly what the Fit Fathers squad did this past Saturday in our nation’s capital for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. The camaraderie was pretty amazing since Chuka Agugua, Rashawn Ciers and I experienced the same brutal winter weather in Maryland with painfully, frigid 2-hour Saturday morning long runs. But the perseverance and determination paid off as we collectively ran one of our best races.

Needing only a banana and coconut water for fuel and electrolytes, I didn’t expect to break the 2-hour threshold because of the hills and of course very slow training runs. However, after hitting mile-6 in about 54 minutes I knew I could achieve more. My fellow Fit Fathers said they felt the same during the 13.1-mile mission. As a band of brothers we were energized with positive vibrations and the extension of life.

So remember, accomplishments do not manifest overnight. A quick fix is never the recipe for long-term success, especially with a healthy lifestyle change. Thank you #RNRDC for the experience!

Choosing a Sport & Getting Started

nike-lunarglide-3-citypack-berlin-1After seventeen years of training as a distance runner, we still dislike the word “exercise.” It’s like bad-tasting cough syrup, conjuring up images of dreary hours on a Stairmaster at the gym. The wonderful thing about sport is the variety of activities to choose from: running, dancing, swimming, cycling, basketball, tennis, mountaineering and kayaking to name a few. Whether it is summer or winter and no matter the person’s age, gender or background there is a sport that will make him or her happy.

Happiness is the key to success in any endeavor. When an activity is pleasurable working hard seems a lot more like play. Getting up before dawn to exercise is more appealing if the activity is a reward in itself. The body is an amazing machine. Start moving and it will respond with increasing levels of fitness, move towards a healthy weight and increase your energy and stamina. But remember that none of this happens overnight. Have realistic expectations and be patient. [Read more…]
