Roberto Tapia on Fit Fatherhood

My fatherhood habits are a lifestyle, an expression of love that has a beginning but no end. It’s a choice we make for 24 hours. The path I chose to be a Fit Father requires more sacrifice than any career but is also far more rewarding since my love for my kids is unconditional. I wouldn’t change the circumstances for the world!

Fit Father Devin McCourty of the New England Patriots

Fatherhood has been amazing to me so far and I look forward to raising my child and strengthening the family bond. From Fit Father and husband responsibilities to playing on the field for the Patriots I have always approached every task with top leadership qualities. It’s been a joy watching my little girl grow and shine in just this first month. I’m eagerly anticipating my obligations along the way while showing her how to be a great and honorable individual.

Damon Redmond on Fatherhood

Being a father is one thing, but living the lifestyle of a Fit Father means so much more when it comes to raising energetic and healthy children. We are proud to be a part of the Fit Fathers movement which empowers dads of all nationalities and ages to take part in healthier living. Spearheaded by Kimatni Rawlins, the fatherhood platform keeps me accountable in relation to my family and I exercising and making positive choices.

Fit-Fathers-Damon-Redmond-FatherhoodI teach my children the importance of knowledge of self, honesty, building strong connections with family and close friends and living a nourishing and productive lifestyle. Life is not just about working and taking vacations. There comes a point when we have to realize what our priorities are and the impact they have on everything else important to us.

As I mature and witness my son and daughter develop and grow, it has become central to pay close attention to my eating and exercise habits so that I will be around longer to enjoy quality time with them and friends alike.

Fit Fathers is the beginning of something much greater than what it is today and I am personally excited to be a part of the journey.

Meet John Engler: From Smoker to Runner

Fit_Fathers_John_EnglerWelcome to the newfound health promoting world of John Engler, an Austin, Texas father of two who recently quit smoking and took up running after his son Jack asked for help in learning how to run. John obliged and in the process of striding with Jack they collectively learned to love the energizing fitness activity. Pretty soon up to 12 neighborhood kids and two other dads became involved for evening runs on Mondays and Wednesdays. Way to go John, and please do keep us posted on this amazing group.

Question for readers: Have you ever thought about organizing a group like this in your neighborhood? Well, as Nike would say, just do it. You just might be surprised at how many individuals will want to get out and kick it with you! Remember, stay active, eat clean and continue to energize your life!

Fit Fathers is excited to welcome the Green Bay Packers’ Adrian Coxson  to Fit Fathers Day. The Baltimore native will join our social workout and address the family-friendly audience on the importance of fatherhood and nutrition.

“Firstly, I would like to applaud Fit Fathers for creating a platform for dads and their families to come together and celebrate the importance of health and fatherhood,” stated Adrian. “Becoming a parent is the greatest accomplishment of my life and I look forward to continued fellowship with other male role models and their children on Fit Fathers Day 2015. Fatherhood is the lifeline of a man’s legacy!”

James “The Beast” Wilson: Mix Martial Arts Fighter

SAMSUNG CSCBeing a part of the Fit Fathers movement is something that I take great pride in. My children see the amount of time and effort I put into training and it rubs off and inspires them. They now try to emulate the things that they have seen me do whether it’s push ups, sit ups, boxing, jogging or simply training others.

I think they see me leading by example, and in turn, they began picking it up.  Hopefully, by watching, it will benefit them firsthand as they carry it throughout their lives. It also provides them with many characteristics that some may not inherit until their teen years or later. SAMSUNG CSCMy children will be equipped with the concepts of mental toughness, consistency, discipline, accountability, and hard work. I didn’t have the luxury of a father molding me into what I am today.  When I look at my children I’m very grateful and blessed that I can be that example to teach them what I’ve always wished I had.  The great thing is, one day they will be able to pass along what they’ve learned onto their kids.  Knowing this is what makes be proud to be a “Fit Father.”

Sean McKoy, Film Director and Producer

Sean-McKoy_Fit-Fathers_Fit-Fatherhood“Fit Fathers” is not just a phenomenal movement, but a wake up call to all men with children! Every father in this world should cherish information and resources to help better themselves physically and mentally for their children.  The resources provided by FitFathers.com, which I have had the pleasure of experiencing consistently, helped shape my entire perspective on healthy eating, daily workouts, and the various misconceptions of food in general.  Moreover, fatherhood means the world to my two daughters and I. For the betterment of society, I hope dads all over the world join the movement; a movement that will bring us closer to our children by adapting healthier lifestyles.  One love!

Juan Barnett, Automotive Writer

Fit-Fathers_Juan-BurnettI was in good shape before my son came along, but not in the same way I am now. Being a part of the “Fit Fathers” movement is not just about maintaining a slim waistline or eating the right foods, there’s a mental component that shouldn’t be neglected. My boy and I will throw back a kale shake like it’s nobody’s business, but I also make sure to take time to reflect on the well-being of my wife and I.

Once a day I mediate, stretch, breathe and relax. It’s a complete package and isn’t easy. Kids at a young age are stressful, and stress can destroy you physically and mentally. The biggest challenge and reward has come from learning to deal with this stress. My family is my motivation, but not just to look good, but also to live a higher quality life dusk to dawn – it’s mental, physical and emotional. This is what Fit Fatherhood means to me!

Ryan E. Stewart, Sports Analyst

Fit-Fathers-Ryan-StewartI cannot think of two better reasons to make sure I’m a part of the Fit Fathers team. My two little men need me around to ascertain they grow into strong and focused men. Staying fit, eating healthy and teaching them the core fundamentals of life will assure me that opportunity. I want to thank Fit Fathers founder and former Georgia Tech Football roommate and teammate Kimatni D. Rawlins for his knowledge and wisdom, and more importantly, for being a true friend.  Stay blessed!

Chris Anderson

downloadAs a father to my 1 year old daughter it has become both important and imperative that I make my own health and fitness a priority. This will allow me to become a great example since no one wants to be the guy huffing and puffing when chasing their little ones around the park. Additionally, I believe too many parents become static observers of the child’s growth and activity when they should be taking part and involving themselves more than they actually do.

Fit Fathers has become an invaluable asset to me in my first year as a dad. Not only as a source of information and awareness for health and fitness, but as a motivation to keep moving and to go above and beyond what I may think my limit is, something every father hopes to see as a virtue in their kids.

I now find myself living by the mantra “stay active, eat well, and energize your life,” and it’s something I want to one day exemplify to all of my kids and grandkids alike.
