Men’s Nike LunarEpic Flyknit 2: Run Free

Experienced by Kimatni D. Rawlins

It’s been a mild winter in Maryland with the first day of March being no different. Yet, as spring approaches I begin to transition back into full running mode after mountain biking, indoor spinning, and strength training during the colder months. So of course I was anxious to try out Nike’s new LunarEpic Flyknit 2 running shoe for men which I received in grey with the black swoosh along with a fresh, matching outfit. Launched in early February the 8.8-ounce shoe (size 10) currently lists for $160 at various retailers including Road Runner Sports. [Read more…]

Run Santa Monica!

kimatni_rawlins_nike_just_do_it

Before the anticipated unveil of the new, family oriented 2018 VW Midsize SUV in Southern California tonight I went out to run some errands (literally) around Santa Monica for 5 miles. From dropping off a heavy package 1 mile away at the post office, to picking up my vegan dinner at Veggie Grille, to taking in the excitement of the Santa Monica Pier and Muscle Beach, I had a very energetic and fitness focused afternoon. Work pays the bills but positive health habits extends life. There should never be an excuse for actively enhancing your overall health.

I Run to Stay Young

Kimatni_Rawlins

I woke up before the sun’s eyes

so I can watch the sun rise,

and run 10 miles in the sun’s shine.

Galloping like a finely fed steed,

I’m fueled only by grass and seeds —

never dairy or meats.

Everyday I strengthen my frame

with endurance and fitness regimens that maintain and enhance my health.

For, it’s not science,

this is a lifestyle of nutritional wealth!

Under Armour Performance Center

Welcome to the Under Armour Performance Center at Headquarters in Baltimore, MD. Executives in marketing say the goal is to make sure employees stay fit at all costs. If you are surrounded by active energy and the requisite facilities are omnipresent, then the likelihood of maintaining fitness goals will become a permanent mindset. The platform includes group classes such as spinning, a boxing studio, strength training equipment, cardio machines and an outdoor turf field overlooking the water for individual skills and drills.

The Performance Center is also open to the public and of course visiting athletes. Hopefully the next Fit Fathers “Social Workout” will take place here. Stay tuned!

Travel Fitness: Fit Fathers in Monterey for Cali Roots

Welcome to Monterey, CA for the “Cali Roots” Memorial Weekend reggae festival. But, before we headed over to the Monterey Fairgrounds the team worked out with top effort. First was a 30-minute strength training session in the Hyatt’s “Stay Fit” gym, then a 3-mile run around the 22-acre property and finished up with wind sprints in the courtyard. Plus, the crew will walk a mile to the concerts, traverse the grounds for hours and finally walk back to the hotel. This is easy work when you eat nutritious whole foods daily, drink water over sugary drinks, exercise on most days and maintain overall positive vibrations. Lead by example my people. One Love!

Kimatni Rawlins’ Health & Wellness Reboot Services

Kimatni-Rawlins-Fit-Fathers-Maryland-Personal-Trainers_
Hello friends and family. As you can see, an extension to the Fit Fathers movement is my lifestyle reboot services to help those in need as it relates to life enhancement and ultimate wellness. The approach is 3-pronged:

1) fitness training 2) nutrition education 3) mindset reprogramming

It is imperative that we unlearn what we have learned, especially with food and eating habits. I will grocery shop with you, show you how to dissect food labels, provide unlimited consultation, suggest books and documentaries to read and view and train you at my garage gym in Silver Spring, MD, at LA Fitness or outside at tracks and parks. I also host local and national group workouts as well as abroad.

Of course many of you know I have been doing this for the last few years but recently decided to manifest my intentions and turn the opportunity into a business model. If you are ready for positive change or simply wish to reboot to a higher elevation then I’m your man. Or you may know someone in need. Remember, eat clean, stay active and continue to energize your life.

One Love!

1-Up-Handles-Basketball-Program-for-Kids

Are you looking for educational basketball and other sports programs for your kids in the Maryland area? Well look no further. 1 Up Handles, Inc is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide quality academic and athletic programs for youth ages 5-18 where they feel free to hone or develop their innate abilities.

For example, they offer reading and journaling at their summer camps to keep students academically engaged over the summer break. During the school year 1 Up Handles hosts after school sports because they believe physical activity is a key ingredient to a healthy lifestyle. The sports offered include basketball, soccer, flag football and dance cheer. Their programs are designed for boys and girls ages 5-18 with the belief that through academics, sports and the fine arts participants will have fun, build friendships and learn or develop more in their perspective area of interest or interests. It is truly a win-win-win.

In addition, their programs are affordable because they believe in supporting hard working parents that want safe, structured and fun activities for their children to be involved in. “I believe being an athlete prepares students for success by providing structure, teaching discipline, encouraging competition, building social skills and promoting a We instead of Me Attitude,” stated Kevin Thompson, Founder of 1 Up Handles.
