The 6th Annual “Fit Fathers Day” Celebration Continues to Build New Traditions for Father’s Day in the DC, Maryland and Virginia Area
Silver Spring, MD – The Fit Fathers Foundation has announced the 6th Annual “Fit Fathers Day” Celebration, which will take place at Veterans Plaza at 8525 Fenton Street, Silver Spring, MD on Sunday, June 16, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The free event geared towards family members of all ages and fitness levels encourages positive health and wellness habits through group exercises, energetic music, fitness games and informational health demonstrations.
Fit Fathers Day draws over 600 attendees annually while taking over Downtown Silver Spring with a sheltered workout platform for group demonstrations, fitness focused vendors, contests, entertainment and other activities. A portion of Fenton Street will be shut down for the kids’ fun zone with moon bounces and the Auto Fit car show featuring active lifestyle vehicles from VW, Mazda, Kia, Nissan and the Washington Auto Show.
“June is Men’s Health Month, so quite naturally, we are ecstatic over the opportunity to provide communities with the tools needed for making positive lifestyle changes by way of our signature event,” stated Fit Fathers Founder Kimatni D. Rawlins. “The goal is to lead by example so your child becomes the example. Eat clean, stay active and eliminate negative habits for the best possible scenarios towards life enhancement.”
The Fit Fathers Foundation is asking for the following commitment:
- On June 16 enjoy at least one hour of energetic activities with your family and friends such as a 5K run, bike ride, hiking, ball games or a simple walk through the park with nature. Or join us at Fit Fathers Day.
- After Fit Fathers Day dads should be inspired to motivate their families with daily exercise and education to replace chips, cookies and soda with fruits, water and homemade smoothies. They will also be empowered to cook more meals at home and avoid fast food.
- Take the Fit Fathers pledge by following our simple steps to lead your family towards a healthier lifestyle.
