Recap: 7th Annual “Fit Fathers Day” Celebration: Virtual Edition

Experienced by Kimatni D. Rawlins

Father’s Day 2020 was such a blessing for the Fit Fathers crew and the dads and families we were able to reach with our spirited health message: “lead by example, so your child becomes the example.” Therefore, blessings to all the kings who pay homage to the honorable role of protecting and nourishing your children.

Fit Fathers Day was presented by Kia and received the support of Men’s Health Month, JBL, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), the African American Health Program, and Turtle Wax. Viewers throughout the United States and as far as Japan and Jamaica were able to join us for a Facebook Live Interactive Workout. We featured dynamic boxing with Coach T, full-body family fitness from Shannon Will, yoga by Dante Settles, and cycling with Kayla Gorrell. The trainers’ team led an energetic and life-enhancing exercise set for everyone’s participation. The new 2020 Kia Telluride SUV was also on display, Turtle Wax sent us shine products for our vehicles, and JBL provided Flip 5 Bluetooth speakers for the crew. DJ P-Cutta also livened us up with his South Jersey flare. [Read more…]

Augusto Cangahuala on Fatherhood

Fatherhood to me means living to become a better person and role model for my kids. Fatherhood also allows me show my son and daughter what true love and selflessness represents while focusing on taking care of Self. The Fit Fathers movement is a responsibility for teaching younger generations how to nourish their bodies, be mentally and emotionally aware, stay physically fit and showcase kindness to others. I love Fit Fatherhood!

Styves Exantus on Fit Fatherhood

A Fit Father means being both the teacher and the student. One day my daughter stated, “you don’t know what it’s like as a kid!” We were in disagreement about a topic and that statement made a major imprint in my mind. I was born in 1983, my daughter was born in 2006 and my son was born in 2017. We will all experience different social trends, advancements in technology, job markets, education, etc. Now, my mindset is learning what it is like to be a kid in 2018 and help her be successful and create characteristics that will be impactful in today’s society. My son will go through a different world when he is 5, 10 and 15 than we all did. Specific moral codes will remain law but the way they move will change and vary differently in comparison to the generation before them.

As Fit Fathers we know that we are teachers, providers and protectors, but continuously learning about the world our kids are living in will be an ongoing journey. My children will look to me for guidance and I will look to them for understanding of the daily triumphs and tribulations they face. Together we will keep each other growing.

EJ Kaku on Fit Fatherhood

When I ponder on what it means to be a Fit Father I think of the word “serve.” Serve, like “love” has so many connotations such as being present when your children take their first step. Other shining examples include offering words of wisdom, taking care of them when they are ill, holding them tightly during hard times and celebrating during good times. Fathers offer so much value within the family structure, yet the greatest asset for each is to be a shining example.

When we serve we are setting the bar high in a positive manner and that is what leaders do. Being a great leader for your family will do so much for your children. You may not know it but they watch everything that we do and strive to be just like us. Leading by example will allow them to carry your life lessons into their own character traits.  Yes, every dad should be a leader and a server.

Roberto Tapia on Fit Fatherhood

My fatherhood habits are a lifestyle, an expression of love that has a beginning but no end. It’s a choice we make for 24 hours. The path I chose to be a Fit Father requires more sacrifice than any career but is also far more rewarding since my love for my kids is unconditional. I wouldn’t change the circumstances for the world!

Welcome to the “Vegan Cyborg” Transformation

Vegan Power Story

My name is Kimatni D Rawlins and I’ve been a vegan since 2011. I Lost 50 lbs after the transformation and at age 44 I still have the majority of my speed and strength from my Georgia Tech Football running back days. I founded both Fit Fathers and Vegan Pro and run marathons, half marathons, urbanathlons, box, strength train, swim, mountain bike, cycle, hike, climb and everything else.

I’m free of any supplementation, only drink water, coconut water, and herbal decaf tea, eat 5 to 7 servings of fruits and veggies a day, do not cook with oils, and shy from processed vegan foods.

I am both alcohol free and smoke free and love reggae. I’ve flown 2.2 million miles globally to explore the diversity of the world and its rich plant-based foods and indigenous peoples. As I continue to evolve myself into a Vegan Cyborg only pure foods, thoughts and actions can enter my realm. Please join me if you’re looking for life everlasting change.

Life is for the living so please ascertain to eat clean, stay active and only feed your mind with pure, positive and enlightened thoughts that lead to purity and prosperity. The body is a temple so treat it as one.
